What a Weekend

I went down to St. George on Friday to take the Business Praxis test. Since I was down there, I decided to go to the temple. I don't know about you, but I usually go to the temple seeking an answer to a question or for comfort in my life. I mean it's good to take those questions to the temple, but sometimes I feel a little selfish. This time I went to the temple just to go to the temple and I had the most amazing experience. Definitely in my top 3 temple experiences.

I went into the confirmation room along with an old man dressed in Sunday clothes. I saw the temple worker hand the other temple workers a whole bunch of family names but it didn't really cross my mind whether they were blue or pink cards. So I sat down in the confirmation chair and did the normal five names. When they finished they decided to do all the family names that the old man had brought. As I was sitting there being confirmed for all of these women, I realized that I was bringing a family one step closer to being eternal and reaching the Celestial Kingdom. Ya, I got a little choked up. When we finished with the 20 or so names, I shook the old man's hand. I will never forget the look on his face and tears in his eyes as he said, "Thank you." TENDER MERCY: I was reminded of the real reason we go to the temple. Not only to help ourselves, but to work for others who didn't get the opportunity here on earth. Plus, I just want to go to the temple every day now!

Blair and Ally were planning on coming down after my test and meeting up with me. Then we were going to spend the weekend in a hotel and have some fun. But we changed our mind about a week ago. On my way back from St. George on Friday, I got a call from my mom saying that my dad had forgotten to cancel the reservation. So we had the hotel for Friday and Saturday night whether we used it or not. None of my roommates were going to be able to come down. I asked my 2nd cousin, Savannah, if she wanted to come because she went to SUU but we hadn't done anything this year. I also invited her to bring one of her roommates. We had a lot of fun window shopping! I also got to try Nielson's Frozen Custard, which I have always wanted to try. TENDER MERCY: I was able to strengthen family ties and we were able to make it safely through the snow from St. George to Cedar City.
